Which ready template to use, and when
The template is not purely an aesthetic choice — it follows the submission channel and the recipient.
| Criteria | PDF format | Word format |
|---|---|---|
| Recruitment portal | Single column, no graphics | Clear font at 11–12pt |
| Direct email | Clean design with a strong summary | One page mandatory |
| In-person interview | Printed copy of the same file | Editable after feedback |
| Creative role | Two columns are acceptable | With space for projects |
| Public sector | Simple, clear and conservative | No ornamentation |

What is the difference between “ready” and “ready to fill”?▼
“Ready” means design, layout and section order are complete and usable immediately. “Ready to fill” emphasises the prompt text telling you what to write in each section. Many of our templates combine both.
Do I need design software to edit them?▼
No. Not Photoshop, Illustrator or Canva. All editing happens in the editor or directly in the Word file. Colours and fonts live in the advanced editor; section order is edited in the Word file itself.
Can they be used with no work experience?▼
Yes. Ready templates suit a recent graduate perfectly if the sections are ordered correctly: education, then skills, then academic projects and internships, with a two-line summary stating your goal.
Does the quality hold up when printed?▼
Yes, files are exported at high resolution and the fonts and dimensions are calculated for A4 printing with safe margins. Review the paper copy before an interview so no section splits across two pages.
How many templates can I use?▼
All templates are available with no restriction and no cap. We suggest keeping one main template constant and changing it only when you switch specialty.
“Ready” here means all the design, layout and section ordering work is already done. All that remains is your own content: no margin to tune, no font to pick, no section to reorder.
What does “use immediately” actually mean?
That the gap between landing on the page and sending your CV is measured in minutes. You do not open design software, compare margin sizes, or copy a layout you saw in a screenshot. You pick the template closest to your field, type your details into the fields and export. Every minute saved at this stage is reinvested in the content, which is the part that genuinely changes hiring outcomes.
How do you know a template is truly “ready” and not half-ready?
Three signs: every section is present with its standard heading, the margins and fonts are tuned to the point of needing no adjustment, and export is available instantly in every format with no payment step. Miss any of the three and you have a “semi-ready” template that will quietly cost you time — which is the more common case.
Is one template enough for every application?
For the design yes, for the content no. Keep two or three: a professional single-column one for recruitment portals, a clearer layout for direct applications and interviews, and a short one-page version. That condensed version will cover 80% of your cases, because most candidates do not need more than one page.
